There's nothing like a poorly written, poorly researched article on the Emerging Church to wake me up in the morning. (Yeah it's almost noon, but I was watching Episode III at midnight).
I'm all for good critique of the EC, but this isn't it. "McLaren" only has one "c," by the way. And if one more person says "trying to define the Emerging Church is like trying to nail jello to a wall," I'm gonna scream. Find a new word picture, please! If there is anything that everyone should learn from the EC it's that creativity (instead of imitation) is a good thing.
I used it in a paper and now everyone is doing it! I'm such a trend setter. :)

Why read that piece and then give it some press? The entire Emergent "thing" is where genuine questions can be asked and treated with dignity, and I'm sensing that website doesn't want to dialogue.

If we don't talk about those who don't want dialogue we will have little dialogue. :)
Honestly, I thought it was a funny little article to read. Not because of its content, but because it had so little content and what it had was so wrong. Also Scot, I tried to be really obvious how bad it was so that you wouldn't have to read it if you didn't want to.

...oh...and Scot, sometimes I read bad stuff and use it to bounce off and say something. I was really trying to encourage good critique of the EC instead of the garbage that is all too prevalent.

Sorry if my comment sounded snobbish.

I know you meant it well. :)

Steve, how was Episode 3? I'm waiting about a week to see it, to avoid some of the mobs at the theater LOL

For Star Wars it was good. For quality movie-making, not so good. I'm a fan of the series, so I definitely liked it. One scene makes the whole movie to me.
