The calling to seek first the reign of God and God's justice means orienting our public deeds away from imposing our moral will upon the social fabric and toward giving tangible experience of the reign of God that intrudes as an alternative to the public principles and loyalties.
Darrel Guder, ed., Missional Church, p 109
Interesting thought, Steve. Thanks.

Great quote, we got to hear Guder at a conference in Texas, (Dallas Willard was there as well). Anyway, I was very impressed. Most Christians think it is there responsibility to impose morality on others rather than living the fruits of the Spirit. I know the fruits of the Spirit sound corny, but if we would be loving, kind, patient, etc. we would have a much better reputation.

"Impose our moral will"? Plueeze.
Statements like that just destroy credibility for me.

How so David?

Couldn't agree more.
Dean Merrill's book, "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry Church" expands on this idea.
