I only have 20 pages left in my preview copy of Confessions of a Reformission Rev. In the next few days I'll get something written up on it.
I want to be careful not to Judge Alito this thing. (I was listening to the Alito hearings yesterday and some judges who have worked with Alito were going to great lengths to deify this guy. Did you know that he has never cussed, said a mean thing, raised his voice, or felt upset about anything in his life? Sheesh. When superlatives are as common as they are, I guess deification is the only way to express praise.) So I will try not to overstate the value of this book, but it's going to be hard. It is one of the most helpful things I've ever read about pastoral ministry and local church mission. And it is going to tick off some people. Whatever.
Anyway, look forward to a review soon.
Have you read Bart Ehrman's new book "Misquoting Jesus" or know of any posts regarding it? Very distressing to see this type of work and be touted as "scholarly".

Steve-
Perhaps you already know but if not, I bet you'll be glad to know that Mark Driscoll is blogging now.

Yeah, I found out about it several weeks ago, but I don't think the site was up yet so I didn't mention it. I've noticed a few bloggers talk about it now. Thanks man.

you got to admit Alito was pretty gracious with hour after of hour of bombastic Democrat senators and insipid questions about CAP
he's a good guy--but yeah deification of a man is never good--it'd be cool if he became a christian(if he isn't already one)
love your blog bro

By all accounts Alito is a devout Roman Catholic. I considered that Christian, unless he speaks otherwise. I agree that deification might have taken place, but after three days of slander and accusation...I can let it slide.

I wasn't trying to make a political statement, or even a statement about Alito. I was making a statement about our exaggeration culture. I don't give a rip who it's about, we have to deify men in order to make them seem good enough, and that sucks. :)

You are correct, sir. Yes. I know what you mean...just chiming in because I can't stay quiet.
And you should check out the Magic Numbers, and with a quickness. You will enjoy.
