I'm glad 24 is coming on now because I need something to get me over my depression caused by the Chicago Bears losing to Carolina. And the reason? The Bears' defense is either overrated, or more likely were just flat-out outplayed. Great game by Rex Grossman, considering his experience level. This is all on the defense. I think the coaches failed to adjust to a very different Carolina team (since the November game).
I will now be pulling for Denver who became one of my favorite teams when we spent three years living in a suburb of Denver (Lakewood).
Condolences from the great state of North Carolina. Tough loss for you guys. But hey...there's always baseball. And I'll be rooting with you for the Cubbies in a couple of months. Love your blog.

Your rooting for the Broncos won't cause them to go the way of the Bears, will it? I'm a lot like those two guys in that movie... with Dan Aykroyd and Damon Wayans. You know, the superstition and mojo and stuff.
This is why I went to New Orleans. I fit in.

How can you watch 24 after today's cataclysmic events? I mean...where was Jack Bauer when the Bears needed him most? Saving the world? Overrated!
My wife, Deea, and I just finished watching Season 4 of 24 on DVD. I'd love one of these babies for Season 5! 100 GB of portable video with a great screen!
I guess it will be the Panthers visiting us next Sunday. Alexander will need to play more than the 1st quarter of this game if we expect to play for a ring. I don't like our chances if we play as poorly as we did yesterday against the Skins.

probably over-rated.
remember, they played in a division with 3 teams who fired their coaches... that can make an above average defense look great...
good game by Rex, your team's future sure looks brighter than my Lion's...

All I can say is that I'm still in complete SHOCK that my Seahawks actually defied the odds and years of the "Curse of Seattle" and beat the Redskins.
Maybe this is the year we go all the way....

Having lived in Chicago for five years (during my trials of taking courses from the likes of Scot McKnight), I was saddened to see Da Bears fall.
And, having spent many summers in Colorado climbing 14ers and enjoying the majesty of God's Creation, I've become a fan of the Broncos.
And, on top of all that, being born and raised in Northeast Ohio, I'm disheartened to see those hated Steelers beat the mighty Colts (I guess Browns fans have to find some way to find a rooting interest in the NFL playoffs every year!)
Go Broncos!!

I wish the Bears would've won. I was disappointed by their last drive, but the Steelers won!....go Broncos.
good blog!

Been a bears since the early eighties. The pass defense was horrible. That's what lost it.

Go Big Ben and the Steelers!
Though I have to say again, I'm a doubting Thomas. I look for Denver to pull out a close game. Though really, how can the Steelers feel toward Denver, when they really licked the mighty Colts?!?!

Steve, I feel your pain, and am trying to "heal" up. I live in Steelers country and have grown weary of "Here we go Steelers, etc." I lived in Chicago (Rogers Park) for 19 years, and am a Bears fan (I was at the Super Bowl parade in 1986 in downtown Chicago clinging to a lightpole!) I attended the Bears-Steelers game this season, and the Bears defense played the same Sunday as they did against the Steelers - they missed tackles and had little pass rush. Leaving Tillman one-on-one with Steve Smith was a mistake. I fear the defense was overrated.
To Steeler fans, you can't get "one for the thumb" when your team hasn't won a Super Bowl in 25 years; the whole thing starts over. Also, learn to stay at Heinz Field until a game is over. (I'm not bitter!) Go Broncos!
