From Christianity Today, a story on "Boston's Quiet Revival." Much here about Park Street Church, a vibrant urban church we visited a few summers ago while on a mission trip to reach internationals at MIT.

Most evangelicals attend Grace or Park Street, at least that was the case when I was living in Boston.
Things ebb and flow, but I would say that religion in general, not just evangelicals, was flourishing well in Boston when I was there. Many people laugh when I tell them that Harvard was the place where I experienced the strongest Christian community in my life and met many Catholic and Protestant witnesses to the faith who really challenged me and are still reminders to me in my walk to this day.
I've been to Park Street. I found the article's emphasis on their Catholic draw interesting. I remember for a while the Ast. Pastor who was doing the evening service was preaching a series on the Church fathers. St. Benedict was his topic the evening I attended and it was a strikingly solid understanding of St. Benedict and translation of what his witness had to offer to those who, not being Catholic, might normally not be attracted to his story. Seemed like a pretty solid church (primarily based on those I knew who went there).

Steve, not to answer for Alex, but I've got a few friends (and acquaintances) in Boston planting churches. Nathan Creitz at The Church at the Gate, Brian Metz at The Church Public, and Osei May at Church Ethne (which is pre-plant right now).

I lived in the Boston area while attending Gordon Conwell for the last three years. I love the area and the people. There are lots of good work happening in the area. Interestingly there is a lot of good work going on through SBC circles in the city.I know Nathan he is a great guy and is part of a Colliegate Church planting Community that grew out of the sbc campus ministry work great and needed approach to ministry and kingdom work in my opinion. There are several other church plants in the formation stage connected to the group. It is headed up by Doug Hunt an amazing man of God and bivocational pastor of Oasis church in Somerville, just north of the city.
Also Hope Fellowship church in Cambridge has an amazing ministry in the community and on the harvard campus. Please be praying for these guys and for the work God is doing in the area. Most of the work is small, humble an unrecognized but God is using it. They are in great need of labors who are willing to think outside the biblebelt box and incarnate the gospel.
While we were there we were working to establish an incarnational church in the suburbs north of the city in the Salem/Beverly area, I wish we were still there.

Maybe I should move to Boston to meet a freshly revived single lady and get married already.
Steve,
I had heard Burr talk about going up there once on a mission trip years ago. I didn't realize until now that he went up there with you.
