Mark Driscoll has a nice, long post on what's happening in his life & at Mars Hill. It's an interesting post with a look at a few people who are throwing stones at him, the growth issues they face at Mars Hill as well as the number of people they have in various recovery groups, and stuff he is writing.
Whatever you think of Driscoll, it's good to keep up.
that is amazing

I hope that the reference to Rob Bell wasn't to call him evil. I think I'm reading that sentence wrong. I've actually benefitted from reading both of them over the past year even as much as I disagree with both of them on different things. Driscoll seems to just be making a general observation about theological sympathies, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on that.

Apparently, I am Rob Bell’s evil doppelganger, which I guess is true, but deciding which one of us is in fact the evil one would depend on whether you are a theological liberal or conservative.
That is a pretty blunt statement that you would have to take as saying he believe that if you are liberal Rob Bell is good, and a conserative (which Mark says he is) he is evil.
Aside from that does anyone else find it odd that someone who spends so much time critquing the Emerging Church and mainline demoinations would be so sad about just a little bit of it coming around to him.

Hey Matthew I think you are missing the big "E" on the eye chart here. Cut the guy some grace, obviously he is running hard to advance the Kingdom and is more open about his flaws and shortcomings than any other high profile pastor I can think of.

Dudes - anyone who things Driscol is "emergent" needs to wake up - cool music, grunge clothes, and cultural relevance does not an emergent pastor make. Driscol is a neofundamentalist who enjoys doing what the pharisees did - attack everyone who disagree's with their doctrinal pet issues - in this case - hyper-calvanism (this is an accurage observation from someone who lives in seattle, not an attack ;-) Bell and McLaren are a breath of fresh air to an indoctrinated evangelicalism - Driscol is simply the "new" Paige Patterson / Jerry Fawell / Adrian Rodgers.
