Two photos I really love this week. The first is a rural Woodstock, IL photo I took a few evenings ago. I drove feverishly looking for a good view of the sunset and found this spot. With Spring here (and Spring weather, finally) it just was a delight to see God show something really beautiful.
The second photo is something beautiful God shows me everyday, my kids. These are my three boys, Elijah, Jack and Daniel (left to right; ages 6, 8, 4). They are dressed up for their sister's school concert, and looking feisty as ever. That hairdo is called "The Shark" and started by Elijah. It's actually their everyday hair.
I always enjoy your Phriday Photos, but these are phantastic! Thanks for sharing them!

I believe the technical term is the "feux hawk" or the "corporate hawk." Your sons our truly little men after my heart! I pray your doing well bro! You and the fam have been in my thoughts recently!

Yep, Steve, Zach is right. The term is actually "faux hawk" (Faux being the French word for "false.") and is quite popular in Europe as well as among many youngsters here. Let's see a picture of YOU sporting the faux hawk! :) I loved seeing pics of the boys! I'm shocked at how grown up they are - I remember the days of babysitting them and changing their diapers, and this is before Danny was even around... Ahh, memories. :)

I think Steve knows what the hair style is really called, but is sharing what his kids call it. Nice pics brother.

These are great! Your photos are an inspritation to me in many, many ways. I especially enjoy the ones that display the grandeur of God's creation. Just think how it must have looked before man's sin messed it up! God is so gracious to continue to give us such beautiful scenes!

Joe, thanks for shedding some light on the hairdo. I have really snobby friends. ;)
My 6 year old doesn't use the word "faux" very often, but he thinks sharks are cool. Makes sense, eh?
Thanks for the comments on the pictures everyone. And if you haven't checked out Joe Thorn's photos lately, he has a growing number of fantastic Chicago photos. Like this one.

Ben Cole's hair looks exactly like that. Seriously.

Love the photo of your kids, Steve. That was my son's first hairdo. He's 18 months old, but he started rocking it soon after we got him home from the hospital. We didn't call it a "shark" then, but that's a way better name than "fauxhawk."
