Some music on the radar, but not yet on the iPod...
I have a feeling Brandi Carlile's new album, The Story, will be a good one. Her debut album was fantastic (as I pointed out last year). Her song, "The Story," was free on iTunes a few weeks back. You can see her video for "The Story," though I like this live version better. Man, what a voice.
I'm entranced by the music of Eluvium. I've been back to their My Space regularly to hear it again. Beautiful. Can't find the CD's in my local stores so I may have to order them. The new one, Copia, is getting great reviews.
Some music I'm loving and will probably post on in the near future: Besnard Lakes, Blonde Redhead, Headlights, Low, Patrick Park, and The Shins.
Yo Steve. I saw Eluvium a few weeks ago with Explosions in the Sky here in DC, and you might like to know that it's just one dude! No "group" at all! And very entrancing. (Is that a word?)
Oh, and I think it's Blonde Redhead. Just one of 'em.
Brandi Carlile was on Grey's Anatomy last week btw, according to the Paste Ctrl-V blog.
Later!

Billy, thanks for catching my Blonde Redhead typo. And yeah, I know Eluvium is only one guy, hence the photo. I've seen some video of him playing. I also noticed Eluvium is playing with Explosions, which must make for an incredible concert.

Have you gotten to check out the new Bright Eyes yet? I've been enjoying it quote a bit. Maybe not as much as some of the older stuff, but good just the same.

Rich, haven't heard the new Bright Eyes. Like some older stuff, but not running to the store for newer stuff.
Sacred, I find my music through magazines (especially Under the Radar and Paste), metacritic.com, pitchforkmedia.com, and music podcasts (like KEXP stuff, NPR stuff, etc).
Benji, very cool. I'll check it out.

Not sure if you're into piano music, but Eluvium's "An Accidental Memory in the Case of Death" is brilliant.
