News today that Lance Armstrong is riding in next year's Tour de France...
The 36-year-old seven-time Tour de France champion will compete in five
road races with the Astana team in 2009, the cycling journal VeloNews reported on its website Monday, citing anonymous sources.
[...]
The move would reunite Armstrong with Johan Bruyneel, now the team director for Astana.
VeloNews reported Armstrong also will compete in the Amgen Tour of California, Paris-Nice, the Tour de Georgia and the Dauphine-Libere.
I hope the rumors are true because the Tour needs some excitement, it needs a hero, WE need a hero...
I'd so look forward to that. Unfortunately, everyone who's been asked about it, from Lance, to Bruyneel, to even Hincapie either doesn't comment or says "it aint so". Not that I trust NBC with much other than a good recipe from time to time, but I Googled "Lance Armstrong" and "Astana" and this was the first article to pop up.
