A great opportunity! From Glenn Lucke...
Current seminarians and PhD students (who have earned their seminary degrees):
Also, recent seminary grads:
I've got 7 open spots to fill, all start immediately.
The
work is providing research assistance to busy, large church pastors. We
don't write sermons. We don't do all or even most of the research. We
do some of the research at the pastor's specific instructions.
We
will discuss compensation by phone. Our pay is superior to seminary pay
and competitive with marketplace jobs that students get. But, working
for Docent is completely flexible-- when and where you want. Plus, this
provides an opportunity to work closely with some talented pastors.

Is this quite common in the U.S.? To have a team of people helping pastors (in larger churches) with sermon prep? It's something I think a lot of pastors would benefit from...a 30 minute sermon (or two,or three) every week takes a lot of work, and talent, if it's going to be maximising the impact on the congregation.
Anyone point to resources in this area (e.g. how to set up a sermon support team?)

Yeah, I think it's pretty common. I wish a I some research help. :) I think
they expect the pastors are doing the expositional work and the team is
doing research in specific areas for supplementing the sermon. At least
that's how I understand it. I may be wrong.
